One of the greatest blessings in my life has been my work in Physical Therapy. Thirty years of seeing complex conditions resolve and lives changed for the better, continues to stoke the fire of passion I have for this practice.

My goal is to help patients learn to become their own best therapists, allowing them to be treated every day in the security and comfort of their own homes.

The role that I play is more as teacher and consultant. Sometimes I think of myself as a quarterback for treatment, guiding patients in finding the right mix of help and support for them. I pride myself on providing each person with the right match of resources including other specialists, equipment, reading and exercises.

Early in my career I was introduced to the world of childbirth education and women’s health. Inevitably during the different phases of a woman’s life, especially when challenged by pregnancy, childbirth and menopause, many physical hurdles became apparent. These hurdles can disrupt daily life and relationships and have intimidating names like vulvar vestibulitis, vulvodynia, endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, dysparunia and dysmenorrhea.

It was not long before male patients were referred to me for many of the same conditions. In men’s health circles, these conditions are known as chronic or abacterial prostatitis, proctalgia fugax, levator ani or chronic pelvic pain syndrome.

Patients started traveling to see me from all over the country and the world when I began writing and teaching about relatively new and less invasive methods of treatment being developed along with other innovators in the field. These methods of treatment for pelvic pain and dysfunction include trigger point myofascial release, paradoxical relaxation and biofeedback.
